Lighting the log burner

Log burners heat the huts very quickly if lit properly. Here are some basic steps:
​(you will need matches, firelighter, kindling and logs.)

1. layer kindling with your firelighter in between layers
2. light the firelighter
3. close the door ensuring that the air vent is open
4. wait 10 minutes until the kindling is burning well
5. add logs
6. if you want to reduce the heat output and slow the burning - close the air vents.
7. ensure the door is always closed

we sell bags of logs on site £5 - cash only
*we do not sell firelighters of kindling (local garages sell both these).

Please respect the site rules. Should you need help during your stay please do not hesitate to contact us. Although we do not have reception, we live just in the main house at the top of the site. Please first try to call or text, but if you cannot get us or have no signal you can find us here.

​Checking out - please simply leave the key in the door by 11AM.
